Sony Alpha dSLR
Sony purchased the Konica-Minolta camera division to begin the Alpha line. The first Alpha, the 100 was very similar Konica-Minolta designs (5d and 7d) and included sensor based vibration reduction (super steady shot) and the Minolta legacy auto focus lens mount, A mount.
As time has gone on, Sony has continued the development and now have a full range of entry level to advanced intermediate level. The A850 and A900 are high resolution full frame cameras that some consider to be of professional quality. While they lack the build quality of other brands pro offerings, they lack nothing as far as image quality is concerned.
